Any one of the isel range of servo CNC machines can be fitted with the digitizing unit, good news for all the current owners of isel machines. It's good news also for those looking for a machine to digitize with as not only can you digitize but you can also machine the component on the same unit. Don't forget about all the other things that can be done on an isel CNC machine, milling, routing, engraving, dispensing, automated 
assembly, vinyl cutting the list goes on. 

All you need to start digitizing is supplied, no "brain surgeons degree necessary" just insert the laser head into the standard motor bracket plug it in launch the software and start digitizing. As there is no contact with the component being digitized the process is happening at he maximum traverse speed of the machine being used. 

The powerful digitizing software makes light work of the most complex digitizing operations. Say goodby to tedious data manipulation, the powerful digitizing software has a number of filters and can export in IGES, DXF ASCII and all standard formats. 

Now that you have the digitized surface or component, import it into your favorite CAD/CAM package for generation of tool paths, surfaces or models. Above is an example of the surface imported as a IGES file into Isycam. 

Rapid prototyping seems to be the flavor of the month these days, I can't think of anything faster in relation to reverse engineering or redesign of existing components than a isel CNC digitizing package.
