Isel 2-phase stepper motors are hybrid motors with a high density of enery. Through the optimisation of the motor characterisitic data, a high operating speed with lower power loss over a wide frequency range as well as high dynamics result.

The Theory
Stepper motors are about electronically commutated motors whose characteristic property is to be seen in direct connection with electrical control signals and the turning movement of the motor.
The setup is similar to that of a high-polar brushless DC motor. The rotor consists of an axially magnetised permanent magnet with toothed (or interlocked) soft-iron caps (north pole and south pole), whereas the stator consists of seversl coils. By passing current through the coil inputs, the rotor teeth are guided by the corresponding stator teeth, a consequent pole reversal of the input voltage produces a rotating stator field which the permanent magnet of the rotor follows.

Motor Types
Isel stepper motors come in three different performane classes.

The smallest version is a so called cube motor with a torque of 26 Ncm.
In the meduim size class, a 160Ncm stepper motor in a standard housing with a 56 x 56mm 
flange is available.
This series is rounded up by a 300Ncm stepper motor with a mounting surface 83 x 83mm.
All motor types have a second shaft to accomodate a break, encoder or any other required device.
