About isel DC Servo motors
Isel brushed DC Servo motors are precision permanent magnet motors
with good price
performance ratio's.
Because of the small moments of enertia of the rotor, the motors are
especialy suitable for fast
and highly accurate drives. The setup of the motors is based on the
magnetic effect of a permanent
magnet (stator) and the electric magnetic field of the rotor winding
that stands vertically on it.
The resulting moment causes turning of the rotor. A pole reversal of
the rotor winding by the commutator ensures the continuous turning movement.
The magnitude of the applied voltage is deturmined at the same as the
turning speed of the motor.
The torque produced depends greatly on the motor current. The motors
can operate above
capacity for a short time.
The encoder
For the positioning, the servo motors require a closed control loop.
The feedback of the turning
angle information is done in series in the case of isel DC servo motors
through a flanged incremental
encoder with 1000 pulses/rev., which outputs rectangular pulses.
With the 3 phase setup, both phase-a and phase-b are available for
the angle determination as well
as an index track for the zero point determination or path measurement.
